[Zakariyyâ (Zachariah)] said: "My Lord! Appoint for me a sign." He said: "Your sign is that you shall not speak unto mankind for three nights, though having no bodily defect."

10. 1. By "nights" is meant, day and night, and "سَوِیاًّ" means absolutely sound, healthy, that is, there will be no illness that would prevent you from speaking. But even then, if you are unable to speak with your tongue, then understand that the days of glad tidings are near.
