Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

10. 1. The meaning of خشیۃ الانفاق is: خشیۃ ان ینفقوا فیفتقروا. Out of fear that if they spend, they will finish it off, and after that, they will become poor. Although this is the divine treasure which is never-ending, but since man is inherently narrow-hearted, he acts with miserliness. At another place, Allah Almighty has said (اَمْ لَھُمْ نَصِيْبٌ مِّنَ الْمُلْكِ فَاِذًا لَّا يُؤْتُوْنَ النَّاسَ نَقِيْرًا) (4:53). That is, if they were to get any share from Allah’s kingdom, they would not give anything to people. نقیر is the small pit in a date stone, meaning they would not give even as much as a speck to anyone. It is Allah’s mercy and His grace and generosity that He has opened the doors of His treasures for people. As it is mentioned in the hadith, Allah’s hands are full, He spends day and night, but there is no decrease in it. Just look, since He created the heavens and the earth, how much must He have spent, but what is in His hand does not decrease, it remains full. Al-Bukhari. Muslim.
