And Allâh has preferred some of you above others in wealth and properties. Then, those who are preferred will by no means hand over their wealth and properties to those (slaves) whom their right hands possess, so that they may be equal with them in respect thereof. Do they then deny the Favour of Allâh?
وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah
فَضَّلَ faḍḍala has favored
بَعْضَكُمْ baʿḍakum some of you

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

71. 1. That is, when you do not give your slaves so much wealth and worldly possessions that they become equal to you, then how would Allah ever like that you make some people, who are also servants and slaves of Allah, partners with Allah and declare them equal to Him? From this verse, it is also understood that the differences found among humans in terms of wealth are according to the natural system established by Allah. These cannot be eliminated through forced laws as in the communist system; that is, instead of unnatural attempts at economic equality, everyone should have equal opportunities to strive and earn in the economic field.

71. 2. That they take out offerings and dedications for others besides Allah from the wealth given by Allah, and thus show ingratitude for the blessings.
