Surah An-Nahl (16) — Ayah 64

وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ ۙ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿64﴾
And We have not sent down the Book (the Qur’an) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a folk who believe.
وَمَآ wamā And not
أَنزَلْنَا anzalnā We revealed
عَلَيْكَ ʿalayka to you
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ l-kitāba the Book
إِلَّا illā except
لِتُبَيِّنَ litubayyina that you make clear
لَهُمُ lahumu to them
ٱلَّذِى alladhī that which
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ ikh'talafū they differed
فِيهِ ۙ fīhi in it
وَهُدًۭى wahudan and (as) a guidance
وَرَحْمَةًۭ waraḥmatan and mercy
لِّقَوْمٍۢ liqawmin for a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ yu'minūna who believe

64. 1. In this, the Prophet's ﷺ position is described that, regarding beliefs and religious rulings, he should clarify in detail the differences between the Jews and Christians, and likewise between the Magians and polytheists, and among the followers of other religions, so that truth and falsehood become clear, and people may choose the truth and avoid falsehood.
