لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مَثَلُ ٱلسَّوْءِ ۖ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَثَلُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿60﴾
For those who believe not in the Hereafter is an evil description, and for Allâh is the highest description. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
لِلَّذِينَ lilladhīna For those who
لَا (do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ yu'minūna believe
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ bil-ākhirati in the Hereafter
مَثَلُ mathalu (is) a similitude
ٱلسَّوْءِ ۖ l-sawi (of) the evil
وَلِلَّهِ walillahi and for Allah
ٱلْمَثَلُ l-mathalu (is) the similitude
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۚ l-aʿlā the Highest
وَهُوَ wahuwa And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ l-ʿazīzu (is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ l-ḥakīmu All-Wise

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 60. 1 That is, the evil deeds of the disbelievers have been described; for them is the evil example or attribute, meaning the attribute of ignorance and disbelief. Or it means that the wife and children they attribute to Allah, this is an evil example that these deniers of the Hereafter ascribe to Allah.

60. 2 That is, every attribute of His is superior and higher compared to the creation, for example, His knowledge is vast, His power is infinite, His generosity and giving are unparalleled. And likewise, or it means that He is capable, the Creator, the Provider, and the All-Hearing and All-Seeing, etc. (Fath al-Qadeer) Or the meaning of the evil example is deficiency and shortcoming, and the meaning of the highest example is absolute perfection in every respect for Allah.
