Surah An-Nahl (16) — Ayah 32

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ ۙ يَقُولُونَ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿32﴾
Those whose lives the angels take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil, and worshipping none but Allâh Alone) saying (to them): Salâmun ‘Alaikum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of that (the good) which you used to do (in the world)."
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna Those whom
تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ tatawaffāhumu take them in death
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ l-malāikatu the Angels
طَيِّبِينَ ۙ ṭayyibīna (when they are) pure
يَقُولُونَ yaqūlūna saying
سَلَـٰمٌ salāmun Peace
عَلَيْكُمُ ʿalaykumu (be) upon you
ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ud'khulū Enter
ٱلْجَنَّةَ l-janata Paradise
بِمَا bimā for what
كُنتُمْ kuntum you used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَ taʿmalūna do

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 32. 1. In these verses, the conduct of the people of faith and piety in contrast to the unjust polytheists and their good end has been described.

32. 2. Under verse 43 of Surah Al-A'raf, this hadith has already been mentioned that no person will enter Paradise merely because of his deeds, unless Allah's mercy is with him. But here it is being said that you will enter Paradise as a reward for your deeds, so in reality, there is no contradiction between them. Because righteous deeds are necessary to attain Allah's mercy; without them, Allah's mercy cannot be attained in the Hereafter. Therefore, the meaning of the aforementioned hadith is correct in its place, and the importance of deeds also remains intact. That is why in another hadith it is stated: ان اللہ لا ینظر الی صورکم واموالکم ولکن ینظر الی قلوبکم واعمالکم.
