Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The meaning is that I am a clear warner to you of the punishment, like the punishment of those who tore the Divine Book into pieces. Some say that by this is meant the tribe of Quraysh, who divided the Book of Allah, calling some parts poetry, some magic (sorcery), some soothsaying, and some tales of the ancients . Some say this refers to the people of Prophet Salih (AS), who swore an oath to kill him and his family by night (An-Naml 27:49) and tore the heavenly Book into pieces. Another meaning of "‘iḍīn" is to believe in some parts of it and to disbelieve in others.
