Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

88. 1. That is, We have granted you blessings such as Surah Al-Fatiha and the Great Qur'an, so do not cast your gaze towards the world and its adornments, nor towards those various types of people of the world to whom We have given the temporary things of this perishable world, and those who deny you—do not grieve over them. And lower your wing for the believers, meaning adopt an attitude of gentleness and love towards them. The origin of this expression is that when a bird takes its young ones under its shade of compassion, it gathers them under its wings. Thus, this phrase is used in the sense of adopting an attitude of gentleness, affection, and love.
