Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
74. 1 It is said that their towns were lifted up from the earth to the sky, and from there they were turned upside down and thrown back onto the earth. In this way, the upper part became the lower part and the lower part became the upper part, turning everything upside down. And it is said that this means merely that the town, along with its roofs, collapsed to the ground.
74. 2 After that, special stones of the kind called khanghar were rained down upon them. In this way, they were subjected to three kinds of punishments and made into a sign of warning.
