قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿57﴾
[Ibrâhîm (Abraham) again] said: "What then is the business on which you have come, O Messengers?"
قَالَ qāla He said
فَمَا famā Then what
خَطْبُكُمْ khaṭbukum (is) your business
أَيُّهَا ayyuhā O messengers
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ l-mur'salūna O messengers

57. 1. Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) inferred from the conversation of these angels that they have not come only to give the glad tidings of offspring, but their real purpose of coming is something else. Therefore, he asked.
