Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

17. 1. "Rajim" is in the meaning of "Marjoom." "Rajm" means to stone, that is, to throw stones. The devil is called "Rajim" because whenever he tries to ascend towards the heavens, a shooting star falls upon him from the sky. Then "Rajim" is also used in the sense of "accursed and rejected," because whoever is stoned is also cursed and reproached from all sides. Here Allah Almighty has stated that We have protected the heavens from every "Shaitan Rajim." That is, through these stars, because they force the devil to flee by striking him.
