Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

15. 1. Its subject can also be the wrongdoer polytheists, as they ultimately sought judgment from Allah. That is, if these messengers are true, then O Allah, destroy us through Your punishment, just as the polytheists of Makkah said 8. Al-Anfal:32) 'And when they said, O Allah! If this Qur'an is indeed from You, then rain down upon us stones from the sky, or bring upon us a painful punishment.' Just as at the occasion of the Battle of Badr, the polytheists of Makkah wished for something of this kind, which Allah mentioned in (Al-Anfal: 19), or its subject can be the messengers, that they prayed to Allah for victory and help, which Allah accepted.
