Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
7. 1. Allah granted every prophet certain signs and miracles according to circumstances, needs, His will, and wisdom, but disbelievers kept demanding miracles of their own choosing. For example, the disbelievers of Makkah would say to the Prophet ﷺ that Mount Safa should be turned into gold, or that rivers and springs should flow in place of mountains, and so on. When a miracle was not shown according to their wishes, they would say, "Why has no sign (miracle) been sent down upon him?" Allah said, "O Prophet! Your duty is only to convey the message. Keep doing that, whether anyone accepts it or not, that is not your concern, because giving guidance is Our task. Your job is to show the way; making someone walk upon that path is not your job, it is Ours."
7. 2. That is, for the guidance and guideship of every nation, Allah has certainly sent a guide. It is a different matter whether the nations adopted the path of guidance or not. But to indicate the straight path, a prophet has certainly come to every nation. (وان من امۃ الا خلا فیھا نذیر) Fatir. In every nation, a warner has certainly come.
