And indeed (many) Messengers were mocked at before you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), but I granted respite to those who disbelieved, and finally I punished them. Then how (terrible) was My punishment!

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

32. 1. It is mentioned in a hadith: '(ان اللہ لیملی للظالم حتی اذا اخذہ لم یفلتہ) Allah gives respite to the oppressor until, when He seizes him, He does not let him go.' After this, the Prophet ﷺ recited this verse (11:12 Hud): "Such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong. Surely, His seizure is painful and severe." (Sahih Bukhari).
