Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

75. 1. That is, the thief would be handed over for a period of time to the person from whom he had stolen. This was the punishment in the Shariah of Yaqub (علیہ السلام), according to which the brothers of Yusuf (علیہ السلام) suggested this punishment.

75. 2. This statement is also from the brothers of Yusuf (علیہ السلام); according to some, it is the statement of the companions of Yusuf (علیہ السلام) who said that we also give such a punishment to wrongdoers. But the next part of the verse, that "in the king's law he could not have seized his brother," negates this statement.
