Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. 2. 1. The purpose of the revelation of heavenly books is the guidance and direction of people, and this purpose can only be achieved when the book is in a language that they can understand. Therefore, every heavenly book was revealed in the national language of the nation for whose guidance it was sent down. Since the primary addressees of the Noble Quran were the Arabs, the Quran was also revealed in the Arabic language. Moreover, the Arabic language, in terms of its eloquence, expressiveness, and conveyance of meanings, is the best language in the world. Therefore, Allah Almighty revealed this most noble book (the Noble Quran) in the most noble language (Arabic) upon the most noble messenger (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) through the most noble angel (Jibreel), and Makkah, where its revelation began, is the most noble place in the world, and the month in which the revelation began is also the most noble month—Ramadan.
