Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

4. 1. That is, in Hell she will bring wood to her husband's fire, so that the fire blazes even more. This will be by Allah's will. That is, just as she was a helper to her husband in his disbelief and stubbornness in the world, in the Hereafter she will also be his helper in punishment. (Ibn Kathir) Some say that she used to bring thorny bushes and spread them in the path of the Prophet ﷺ. And some say that this is a reference to her habit of tale-bearing. In Arabic, this is an idiom for tale-bearing. She used to go to the disbelievers of Quraysh and backbite about the Prophet ﷺ and incite them to enmity against him ﷺ. (Fath al-Bari)
