وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا ﴿2﴾
And you see that the people enter Allah’s religion (Islâm) in crowds.
وَرَأَيْتَ wara-ayta And you see
ٱلنَّاسَ l-nāsa the people
يَدْخُلُونَ yadkhulūna entering
فِى into
دِينِ dīni (the) religion
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah
أَفْوَاجًۭا afwājan (in) multitudes

The help of Allah means the dominance of Islam and Muslims over disbelief and disbelievers, and by victory is meant the conquest of Makkah, which was the birthplace and residence of the Prophet ﷺ, but the disbelievers had forced him ﷺ and the noble companions to migrate from there. Thus, when Makkah was conquered in the 8th year of Hijrah, people began to enter Islam in multitudes, whereas before that, individuals would become Muslim one or two at a time.
