Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

84. 1. For the research of Madyan, see the footnote of Surah Al-A'raf, verse 85.
84. 2. After inviting to Tawheed, the prominent moral corruption in this nation—deficiency in measure and weight—was forbidden to them. It had become their habit that when a seller (ba'i) brought his goods to them, they would take more in measure and weight, and when they sold something to a buyer (mushtari), they would give less in measure and cheat in weight.
84. 3. This is the reason for forbidding: when Allah Almighty is bestowing His grace upon you and has blessed you with comfort and wealth, then why do you commit this vile act?
84. 4. This is the second reason: if you do not refrain from this act, then there is a fear that you will not be able to escape the punishment of the Day of Resurrection. The day that encompasses refers to the Day of Resurrection, when no sinner will be able to escape the reckoning of Allah, nor will anyone be able to run away and hide.
