Surah Hud (11) — Ayah 74

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَـٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ ﴿74﴾
Then when the fear had gone away from (the mind of) Ibrahîm (Abraham), and the glad tidings had reached him, he began to plead with Us (Our messengers) for the people of Lût (Lot).
فَلَمَّا falammā And when
ذَهَبَ dhahaba (had) gone away
عَنْ ʿan from
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ib'rāhīma Ibrahim
ٱلرَّوْعُ l-rawʿu the fright
وَجَآءَتْهُ wajāathu and had reached him
ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ l-bush'rā the glad tidings
يُجَـٰدِلُنَا yujādilunā he argued with Us
فِى concerning
قَوْمِ qawmi the people
لُوطٍ lūṭin of Lut

74. 1. By this argument is meant that Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said to the angels that the town you are going to destroy, Lut (peace be upon him) is also present there. To this, the angels replied that we know that Lut (peace be upon him) also lives there. But we will save him and his family except for his wife.
