Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

60. 1 The meaning of لَعْنَہ is being distant from Allah's mercy, deprivation from good deeds, and reproach and aversion from people. In this world, this curse is such that among the believers, their mention will always be in a tone of reproach and aversion, and in the Hereafter, it will be such that there, علٰی رؤوس الشہاد, they will face humiliation and disgrace and will be afflicted with Allah's punishment.

60. 2 The word بُعْد here means distance from mercy, and carries the meanings of curse and destruction, as has already been explained before.
