Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

54. 1. That is, you who insult and disrespect our deities by saying that they can do nothing, it seems that our deities have said something to you in response to your disrespect, and your mind has become deranged. Just as nowadays, so-called Muslims also fall prey to such superstitions; when they are told that these deceased persons and elders can do nothing, they say that it is disrespect to their status and there is a danger that those who commit such disrespect will be destroyed by them. We seek refuge with Allah from superstitions and lies.

45. 2. That is, I am disassociated from all these idols and deities, and your belief that they have done something to me is completely wrong; they do not have the power to benefit or harm anyone in a way that is beyond natural means.
