Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

34. 1 Ighwa means idlal (to mislead). That is, if your disbelief and denial have reached such a stage from which it is impossible for any human to return and accept guidance, then this state is referred to as Allah Almighty sealing the heart, after which there remains no hope for guidance. The meaning is that if you too have reached this dangerous turning point, then even if I wish to do good for you, that is, try even harder to bring you to guidance, this effort and goodwill will not benefit you, because you have reached the final stage of misguidance.

34. 2 Guidance and misguidance are also in His hands, and to Him you will all return, where He will reward you for your deeds. The righteous will be rewarded for their good deeds, and the evil ones will be punished for their evil.
