Surah Al-Maa'un (107) — Ayah 2

فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ﴿2﴾
That is he who repulses the orphan (harshly),
فَذَٰلِكَ fadhālika Then that
ٱلَّذِى alladhī (is) the one who
يَدُعُّ yaduʿʿu repulses
ٱلْيَتِيمَ l-yatīma the orphan

2. 1. This is because, firstly, one is miserly, and secondly, he denies the Day of Judgment. How can such a person possibly show kindness to an orphan? Only that person will treat an orphan well whose heart values human virtues and moral principles over wealth, and who is convinced that in return for this, he will receive a good reward on the Day of Judgment.
