Surah Al-Asr (103) — Ayah 3

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ ﴿3﴾
Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth [i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma‘ruf) which Allâh has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar which Allâh has forbidden], and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allâh’s Cause during preaching His religion of Islâmic Monotheism or Jihâd).
إِلَّا illā Except
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ āmanū believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟ waʿamilū and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ l-ṣāliḥāti righteous deeds
وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ watawāṣaw and enjoin (each other)
بِٱلْحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi to the truth
وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ watawāṣaw and enjoin (each other)
بِٱلصَّبْرِ bil-ṣabri to [the] patience

3. 1 Yes, those people are protected from this loss who possess both faith and righteous deeds, because no matter how their life has passed, after death they will in any case be blessed with eternal blessings and the luxurious life of Paradise. 3. 2 That is, the exhortation to adhere to Allah's Shariah and to avoid prohibitions and sins.

3. 3 That is, patience over hardships and calamities, patience in acting upon the commands and obligations of Shariah, patience in avoiding sins, patience in sacrificing pleasures and desires. Although patience is included in mutual exhortation to truth, it has been mentioned separately with particular emphasis, which clarifies its honor, virtue, and its distinction among the qualities of truth.
