إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ ﴿2﴾
Verily, man is in loss,
إِنَّ inna Indeed
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ l-insāna mankind
لَفِى lafī (is) surely, in
خُسْرٍ khus'rin loss

2. 1. This is the answer to the oath. The loss and destruction of man is evident: as long as he lives, his days and nights pass in hard labor, then when he meets death, there is no comfort or relief after death; rather, he becomes the fuel of Hell.
