Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
11. 1. Just as it is mentioned in the hadith that the fire which humans kindle in this world is one part out of seventy parts of the fire of Hell; the fire of Hell is sixty-nine times more intense than the fire of this world (Sahih Bukhari, Kitab Bad' al-Khalq, Bab Sifat al-Nar wa annaha Makhluqah; Muslim, Kitab al-Jannah, Bab fi Shiddat Harri Nar Jahannam). In another hadith, it is stated: "The fire complained to its Lord that one part of me is consuming another part, so Allah Almighty allowed it to take two breaths: one breath in the summer and one breath in the winter. Thus, the severe cold is its cold breath, and the extreme heat that occurs is the hot breath of Hell." (Bukhari, the mentioned book and chapter) In another hadith, the Prophet ﷺ said: "When the heat is very intense, perform the prayer when it becomes cooler, because the severity of the heat is due to the boiling of Hell." (the mentioned reference, Muslim, Kitab al-Masajid)
