Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

97. 1. These are the people who have become so immersed in disbelief and disobedience to Allah that no admonition affects them and no argument works on them. That is why, by committing sins, they have destroyed their natural capacity and ability to accept the truth. If their eyes are opened, it is only when the punishment of Allah descends upon them, and at that time, faith is not accepted in the court of Allah (فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنْفَعُهُمْ اِيْمَانُهُمْ لَمَّا رَاَوْا بَاْسَـنَا) (40:85) 'When they saw Our punishment, their faith did not benefit them.'
