Jonas · Meccan · Juz 11 · Page 219

Allâh said: "Verily, the invocation of you both is accepted. So you both keep to the Straight Way (i.e. keep on doing good deeds and preaching Allâh’s Message with patience), and follow not the path of those who know not (the truth i.e. to believe in the Oneness of Allâh, and also to believe in the Reward of Allâh: Paradise)."

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

89. 1. One meaning of this is to remain steadfast in your supplication, even if its manifestation is delayed. Because your supplication has certainly been accepted, but when We will bring it into effect? That depends purely on Our will and wisdom. Thus, some commentators have stated that forty years after this supplication, Pharaoh and his people were destroyed, and according to the supplication, when Pharaoh began to drown, he declared his faith, which did not benefit him at all. The second meaning is that you should continue your preaching and invitation, the guidance and leadership of the Children of Israel, and your efforts to deliver them from the slavery of Pharaoh.

98. 2. That is, do not be like those who do not know Allah’s way, His law, and His wisdom and purposes, but now wait and be patient. Allah, according to His wisdom and purpose, will certainly fulfill His promise sooner or later, because He does not break His promise.
