سُوْرَةُ يُوْنُسَ
Surah Yunus (10) — Ayah 41
وَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل لِّى عَمَلِى وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْ ۖ أَنتُم بَرِيٓـُٔونَ مِمَّآ أَعْمَلُ وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿41﴾

And if they belie you, say: "For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds! You are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what you do!"

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf

41. 1. That is, even after all the explanations and presenting of arguments, if they still do not refrain from denying, then you should say this. The meaning is that my duty is only to invite and convey the message, and that I have done. Neither are you responsible for my actions, nor am I responsible for yours. Everyone will be presented before Allah, and there every person will be questioned about his good or bad deeds. This is the same thing as in "قل یا ایھا الکافروں لا اعبد ماتعبدون" and was said by Prophet Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) in these words: "انا برآء منکم ومما تعبدون من دون اللہ کفرنا بکم" — Surely, we are completely disassociated from you and from all those whom you worship besides Allah; we reject your beliefs.
