29. 1. This is the reason for denial: "We had no knowledge at all, whatever you used to do, and if we are lying, then Allah is a witness between us, and He is sufficient. After His testimony, there is no need for any other proof." This verse is clear evidence that the polytheists whom they used to call for help were actually individuals possessing intellect and consciousness, and after their death, people began to make their statues and idols and started worshipping them. Just as is proven from the behavior of the people of Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام), which is explicitly mentioned in Sahih Bukhari. Secondly, it is also known that after death, no matter how pious a person is, even if he is a Prophet or Messenger, he does not have knowledge of the conditions of the world. His followers and devotees call upon him for help, offer vows in his name, arrange fairs and gatherings at his grave, but he remains unaware, and such people will deny all these things on the Day of Judgment. The same thing is mentioned in Surah Ahqaf, verses 5 and 6.
