Is it a wonder for mankind that We have sent Our Revelation to a man from among themselves (i.e. Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) (saying): "Warn mankind (of the coming torment in Hell), and give good news to those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) that they shall have with their Lord the rewards of their good deeds?" (But) the disbelievers say: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer (i.e. Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and the Qur’ân)!

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

2. 1. The interrogative here is for denial and amazement, which also includes a tone of rebuke, meaning that one should not be surprised that Allah Almighty has chosen a man from among humans for revelation and prophethood, because due to being of the same kind, he can truly guide mankind. If he were of another kind, such as an angel or a jinn, then in both cases the real purpose of prophethood would be lost, because instead of being familiar with him, humans would feel estranged, and secondly, it would not even be possible for them to see him. And if We were to send a jinn or angel in human form, then the same objection would arise that he is just a human like us. Therefore, there is no rationality in their amazement.
2. 2. The meaning of (قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ) is high rank, excellent reward, and those righteous deeds which a believer sends ahead.
2. 3. When disbelievers cannot find any argument for denial, they get rid of it by saying that he is a magician. May Allah protect us.
