يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ﴿6﴾
That Day mankind will proceed in scattered groups that they may be shown their deeds.
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ yawma-idhin That Day
يَصْدُرُ yaṣduru will proceed
ٱلنَّاسُ l-nāsu the mankind
أَشْتَاتًۭا ashtātan (in) scattered groups
لِّيُرَوْا۟ liyuraw to be shown
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ aʿmālahum their deeds

(Ayah 6){ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّصْدُرُ النَّاسُ اَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا اَعْمَالَهُمْ: ’’ يَصْدُرُ ‘‘} will return, that is, they had first gone to the graves, now from there they will return to the field of Resurrection before Allah for reckoning, as He said: « ثُمَّ يُمِيْتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيْكُمْ ثُمَّ اِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ » [ البقرۃ : ۲۸ ] "Then He will cause you to die, then He will give you life, then to Him you will be returned." {’’ اَشْتَاتًا ‘‘’’شَتٌّ‘‘} is the plural of 'شَتٌّ', meaning separately. {’’ لِيُرَوْا ‘‘ ’’أَرٰي يُرِيْ إِرَاءَةً ‘‘} is the passive imperfect from (افعال), so that they may be shown their deeds. In {’’ لِيُرَوْا ‘‘}, the pronoun is the deputy subject and {’’ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ‘‘} is the second object. The meaning is that every person will be presented alone before Allah Almighty for accountability, his tribe, his group, and friends will not be with him, as He said: « وَ لَقَدْ جِئْتُمُوْنَا فُرَادٰى كَمَا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ » [ الأنعام : ۹۴ ] "And certainly you have come to Us alone just as We created you the first time." They will return separately so that each one may be shown his deeds, as He said: « اِقْرَاْ كِتٰبَكَ كَفٰى بِنَفْسِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكَ حَسِيْبًا » [ بني إسرائیل : ۱۴ ] "Read your book; today you are sufficient as an accountant against yourself." It can also mean that people will proceed towards the field of Resurrection in separate groups, although before Allah Almighty they will be presented individually, as He said: « وَ يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ مِنْ كُلِّ اُمَّةٍ فَوْجًا مِّمَّنْ يُّكَذِّبُ بِاٰيٰتِنَا فَهُمْ يُوْزَعُوْنَ » [ النمل : ۸۳ ] "And the Day We will gather from every nation a group of those who denied Our signs, then they will be sorted out into separate groups."

6. 1. "یصدر، یرجع (will return)" — this is the opposite of ورود, meaning after coming out of the graves, they will return towards the place of reckoning, or after the reckoning, they will return towards Paradise and Hell. "اشتاتا, متفرق," meaning in groups, some will be fearless, some will be fearful, some will have white faces like the people of Paradise, and some will have black faces, which will be a sign of their being from Hell. The white ones will turn to the right side, and some to the left side. Or these different groups will be based on religions, sects, and deeds and actions.

6. 1. That is, the earth will narrate its news so that the deeds of people may be shown to them.

6. On that Day, people will return in scattered groups [5] so that they may be shown their deeds [6].

[5] This verse can have two meanings. One is that all people will be separated and divided, and each individual will be questioned by Allah individually. The second is that, according to the nature of their crimes, they will be grouped separately. The group of drunkards will be separate, adulterers will be separate, thieves will be separate, robbers and bandits will be separate; in short, every person will join those of his own kind.
[6] Here, only the word "deeds" is used. That is, people of all kinds will be shown their deeds, and the manner will be as mentioned above: the films of their deeds will be shown to each one, so that no room for doubt or suspicion remains. It can also mean that each person's record of deeds will be handed over to him so that he may read and examine his deeds thoroughly himself.
