Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 19) ➊ { كَلَّالَاتُطِعْهُوَاسْجُدْوَاقْتَرِبْ:} It is said, he prevents you from prayer, so never obey him; rather, you should continue to pray, prostrate, and seek closeness to Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: [ أَقْرَبُمَايَكُوْنُالْعَبْدُمِنْرَّبِّهِوَهُوَسَاجِدٌفَأَكْثِرُواالدُّعَاءَ ][ مسلم، الصلاۃ، باب ما یقال في الرکوع والسجود؟ : ۴۸۲ ] "A servant is closest to Allah when he is in prostration, so make plenty of supplication (du'a) in it." In Sahih Muslim, it is also narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would prostrate upon this verse. [ دیکھیے مسلم، المساجد، باب سجود التلاوۃ : ۱۰۸ /۵۷۸]
➋ Although the primary reference of these verses is Abu Jahl, due to the general wording, every person who possesses these characteristics is included, whoever he may be and from whichever era. And every believer is commanded not to obey such a rebellious person and to continue prostrating before Allah and seeking His closeness.

19. Never! Do not obey him, but prostrate and draw near (to your Lord) [13].
[13] The Virtue of Prostration:
That is, there is no need to stop performing prayer in the Ka'bah by obeying the words of this immoral person; rather, continue to perform prayer just as you have been doing before. It should be clear that here "prostration" does not refer only to the act of prostration itself, but to the prayer as a whole. It is an established practice among the Arabs to mention the most honorable part of something and intend by it the whole or the main thing. It is being explained that the more prayers you ﷺ perform, the closer you will get to Allah. Therefore, offer prayers in abundance. Please consider the following hadiths regarding the virtue of prostration: 1. Rabi'ah bin Ka'b al-Aslami narrates that I used to spend the night with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and would bring water for his needs and ablution. Once, the Prophet ﷺ said: "Ask, what do you wish for?" I replied, "I wish for your companionship in Paradise." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Anything else?" I said, "That is all I wish for." He said, "Then make abundant prostration obligatory upon yourself, and thus help me in this matter." [مسلم۔ کتاب الصلوٰۃ باب فضل السجود والحث علیہ] 2. At the end of this Surah, a prostration of recitation should also be performed. Accordingly, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ narrates that we performed prostration with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Surah: ﴿اِذَاالسَّمَاءُانْشَقَّتْ﴾ and in Surah Iqra.
