فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ﴿7﴾
So when you have finished (your occupation), devote yourself for Allâh’s worship.

(Ayah 8,7) ➊ { فَاِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ …:} Whether your worldly affairs, or the propagation of religion, or striving in the way of Allah, although all these are acts of worship and good deeds, yet in them there still remains some connection with creation. Whenever you get some respite from these tasks, then disconnect yourself from everything and connect with your Lord, engaging in the remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Qur’an, standing, bowing, and prostrating with effort, and direct all your desire only towards your Lord. This is the same thing that was mentioned at the beginning of Surah Al-Muzzammil, where it is said: « اِنَّ لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيْلًا (7) وَ اذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَ تَبَتَّلْ اِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيْلًا » [المزمل: 8،7] “Indeed, you have by day prolonged occupation, and remember the name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him with complete devotion.”

{ فَانْصَبْ:’’نَصِبَ يَنْصَبُ نَصْبًا‘‘} (S) in its meaning includes effort, hardship, and also fatigue, that is, not only at times of comfort, but even when your nature does not desire it, continue the effort of worship and remembrance of Allah. Thus, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand so long at night that his feet would swell, as is narrated in the Sahihayn from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
