Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 4) ➊ { وَرَفَعْنَالَكَذِكْرَكَ:} That is, your name was elevated in this world and the Hereafter, your Ummah’s rule was spread to the east and west of the earth, and in the declaration of faith, the call to prayer, the Iqamah, the sermon, and the Tashahhud, your name is mentioned along with Allah’s name. Along with obedience to Allah, obedience to you is obligatory; there is no moment in which your good mention is not being made somewhere. On the Day of Judgment, your mention will be elevated with the leadership of the children of Adam, Al-Kawthar, the Banner of Praise, the Praised Station, and the Greatest Intercession. ➋ Here, three blessings are mentioned: the opening of the chest, the removal of the burden, and the elevation of the mention. While describing all three, {’’ لَكَ ‘‘} or {’’ عَنْكَ ‘‘} is said; in this, the honor of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is being expressed, that all of this was done for your sake.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
4. 1. That is, wherever Allah's name is mentioned, your name is also mentioned, for example in the call to prayer, in prayer, and in many other places. In previous scriptures, there is mention of you and details of your attributes. Among the angels, there is mention of your goodness. Allah has declared obedience to you as obedience to Himself, and along with His own obedience, He has also commanded obedience to you.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And We raised your mention for you [3].
[3] The Various Means by Which Your Mention Was Elevated; The First Means Was the Disbelievers of Makkah Themselves:
The elevation of your ﷺ good mention began right from the start of Prophethood, and the delightful thing is that Allah Almighty made the disbelievers of Makkah themselves the means for this. There is a famous saying: "The enemy stirs up evil, but it turns out to be for our good" (i.e., sometimes the enemy commits such mischiefs that end up benefiting us). Among the means the disbelievers of Makkah adopted to harm Islam and block your ﷺ call was that, during Hajj, when all the Arab tribes would come to Makkah for pilgrimage, the disbelievers decided among themselves to collectively go to these delegations and dissuade them from Muhammad’s ﷺ call, saying, "Beware lest you fall into the trap of that person. He possesses such magic that separates a brother from his brother, a father from his son, and a wife from her husband." Thus, in this regard, the delegations of the disbelievers would go to each tent of the pilgrims and campaign against you ﷺ and defame you ﷺ. But the people coming from outside were not so naive as to immediately believe the words of the disbelievers. Therefore, their hostile campaign brought you ﷺ two benefits. First, your ﷺ good mention began to spread to every corner of Arabia. Second, a curiosity arose in people’s minds that they should find out the real truth about the person against whom such propaganda was being made. Thus, before your ﷺ migration, there was not a single tribe in Arabia in which there was not at least one Muslim and in which your good mention was not being made. Another reason was that, just as the declaration of ﴿لَااِلٰهَاِلَّااللّٰهُ﴾ was necessary to enter Islam, similarly, the declaration of ﴿مُحَمَّدٌرَّسُوْلُاللّٰهِ﴾ was also necessary. Moreover, in Makkah, your enemies were only the Quraysh of Makkah, but after reaching Madinah, your ﷺ opposing groups became four instead of one: first, the Quraysh of Makkah; second, the Jews of Madinah; third, the polytheist tribes of Madinah and the whole of Arabia; and fourth, the hypocrites who were present not only in Madinah but also in other settlements, and whose sympathies were attached to every group hostile to Islam. They adopted the methods of the Quraysh of Makkah and similar ways to block the path of Islam, and all these people were active in defaming you. But the results of their efforts also turned out contrary to their expectations, and within a short span of ten years, the entire Arabia became Muslim and began to raise the calls of ﴿لا الٰه الا الله﴾ along with ﴿محمد رسول اللّٰه﴾ several times a day. In the adhan, in the iqamah (the second call to prayer), and in sending blessings (salawat), your ﷺ good mention became essential. Then, after your ﷺ passing, the Islamic movement spread beyond Arabia to the whole world. Then the situation became such that, due to the different times of adhan and prayer in various regions of the world, probably not a single moment passes in the day when the proclamation of your ﷺ mention is not being raised, and this process will continue to increase until the Day of Judgment. The delightful thing is that this prophecy was made by Allah Almighty at a time when, apart from the people of Makkah, no one even knew you ﷺ, and even they were your enemies and bent on erasing your existence from the world. This prophecy of the Quran itself is open proof of the truth of the Quran. Who at that time could have estimated that your ﷺ good mention would be elevated with such grandeur and on such a vast scale?
