[5] Upon Being Orphaned, You Continued to Receive the Best Guardians:
Your noble father passed away two months before your birth. When you were born, your grandfather Abdul Muttalib took on your guardianship, who loved and cherished you even more than his own children. When you were only six years old, your noble mother also passed away, and you became an orphan from both sides. When you turned eight, your kind grandfather Abdul Muttalib also passed away. Now, the responsibility of your guardianship was taken up by your younger uncle, Abu Talib, who loved you more than his own children. Then, when you were granted prophethood and even your own tribe became your enemies, Abu Talib, despite not accepting Islam, stood by you through every hardship. He took upon himself the entire burden of the tribe’s enmity and hostility, and, heedless of all kinds of dangers, fulfilled the responsibility of your guardianship and protection in the best possible manner for ten years after the beginning of prophethood. He even remained besieged with you for three years in the Valley of Abu Talib. In the tenth year of prophethood, this support also ended, that is, Abu Talib passed away. Shortly after this, Allah Almighty granted the blessing of Islam to the Ansar of Madinah (the Aws and Khazraj). Thus, after the Pledge of Aqabah, you migrated to Madinah. The way the Ansar of Madinah fulfilled the responsibility of your protection with such courage is recorded in the pages of history. In this verse, Allah Almighty has mentioned this favor, that despite you being an orphan, you continued to be granted such guardians who cherished you more than their own lives.
