Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah51) ➊ {قُلْلَّنْيُّصِيْبَنَاۤاِلَّامَاكَتَبَاللّٰهُلَنَا:} This is a mention of the blessing of faith and conviction in Allah’s decree. It is true: {’’مَنْعَلِمَسِرَّاللّٰهِفِيالْقَدَرِهَانَتْعَلَيْهِالْمَصَائِبُ ‘‘} “Whoever understands the secret of Allah’s decree and destiny, calamities become easy for him.” As Allah Almighty has said: “No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but it is inscribed in a Book before We bring it into existence. Surely, that is easy for Allah, so that you may not grieve over what escapes you, nor exult over what He gives you.” [ الحدید : ۲۲، ۲۳ ]
➋ { هُوَمَوْلٰىنَا … :} He alone is our Master, Helper, and Protector. We are pleased with our Master, and for the believers, it is necessary to rely only on Allah, not on the means and resources of the world, nor on any other being besides Him. The use of {’’ وَعَلَىاللّٰهِ ‘‘} at the beginning creates the meaning of exclusivity, and in {’’ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ‘‘}, the meaning of “fa” is that if you want to remedy the discouragement caused by the attitude of these hypocrites, then the demand of the believers’ faith is that they should rely only on Allah and not care for anyone else besides Him.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
51. 1. This is being said in response to the hypocrites for the patience, steadfastness, and courage of the Muslims, because when a person knows that everything destined by Allah will certainly happen, and whatever hardship or goodness reaches us is a part of this divine decree, then it becomes easier for a person to endure hardship and it increases his courage.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
51. Say, “Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has decreed for us; He is our Protector, and in Allah should the believers put their trust [55].”
[55] The Difference Between the Traits of a Believer and a Disbeliever or Hypocrite:
In this verse, the ideological difference between the believers and the hypocrites is described. Whatever a hypocrite does, he only considers his worldly benefit. Then, if he succeeds, he becomes arrogant and is overjoyed, and if he fails, he becomes despondent. Whereas the characteristic of a believer is that whatever he does, he does it for the exaltation of the religion and for the pleasure of Allah. If he succeeds, he considers it Allah’s grace and gives thanks for it, but does not become arrogant, and if he fails, even that does not make him despair, and he considers it to be from Allah as well. Because adopting the means is the believer’s responsibility, and producing good or bad results is Allah’s work. Therefore, in every situation, he relies only on Allah.
