Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 23) {وَجِايْٓءَيَوْمَىِٕذٍۭبِجَهَنَّمَ :} Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ يُؤْتٰیبِجَهَنَّمَيَوْمَئِذٍلَهَاسَبْعُوْنَأَلْفَزِمَامٍ،مَعَكُلِّزِمَامٍسَبْعُوْنَأَلْفَمَلَكٍيَجُرُّوْنَهَا ][ مسلم، الجنۃ وصفۃ نعیمھا، باب جہنم أعاذنا اللّٰہ منھا : ۲۸۴۲ ] "On that Day, Hell will be brought forth in such a state that it will have seventy thousand reins, with each rein being held by seventy thousand angels who will be dragging it."
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
23. 1 Jahannam will be bound with seventy thousand reins, and with each rein there will be seventy thousand angels pulling it (Sahih Muslim). It will be made to stand on the left side of the Throne, and upon seeing it, all the close ones and prophets will fall to their knees and cry out, "O Lord, myself, myself." (Fath al-Qadeer)
23. 2 That is, upon witnessing this terrifying scene, man's eyes will be opened and he will regret his disbelief and sins, but on that day, regret and admonition will be of no benefit.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
23. And Hell will be brought forth that Day. On that Day, man will remember, but how will remembrance benefit him then? [17]
[17] That is, when the deniers of the Hereafter and of Paradise and Hell will see Hell with their own eyes, they will say that whatever admonition or command is given to us today, we are ready to accept it. But at that time, their obedience will not be voluntary but compelled. Their faith will not be in the unseen, but by direct witnessing, and therefore it will have no value or worth. Anyone can believe in something after seeing it. On that day, such people will say with great regret that if only we had accepted this admonition in the world, and had done some good deeds for this Day.
