Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 14){ وَ مَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ:} That is, the matter of resurrection is not being told to you in jest; this is the word of the Wise and All-Knowing, not of an ignorant person who is making a joke. When the people of Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him) were commanded to slaughter a cow, they said to him, "Are you making fun of us?" So he replied: « اَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰهِ اَنْ اَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْجٰهِلِيْنَ » [ البقرۃ : ۶۷ ] "I seek refuge with Allah lest I be among the ignorant."

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

14. 1. That is, it is not something of play and amusement (lahw and la‘ib), which is the opposite of (qasd and iradah), meaning it is a book possessing a clear purpose, not aimless like play and amusement.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 14. Surely, this is no joke [11].

[11] That is, the repeated descent of rain and the continuous process of vegetation growing from the earth is a coordinated system. It is not a matter of jest, but a solid reality and something you observe. Similarly, the facts that the Quran presents and the decisive judgments it declares are also based on solid realities. These are not matters of jest, but they are bound to come to pass.
