وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ ﴿21﴾
And when the Qur’ân is recited to them, they fall not prostrate.

21. And when the Quran is recited to them, they do not prostrate [16].

[16] After the recitation of this verse, one should perform sajdah (prostration), as is made clear by the following hadiths. Abu Rafi’ says that he performed the ‘Isha prayer behind Sayyiduna Abu Hurairahؓ. He recited this very surah and performed sajdah at ﴿يسجدون﴾. I asked, “What is this?” He replied, “I performed prayer behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He recited this very surah and performed sajdah, and I will always continue to perform sajdah in it.” And another narration from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairahؓ is as follows: “We performed sajdah with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Surah ﴿اذا السماء انشقت﴾ and Surah Iqra.” [بخاری۔ کتاب الصلوۃ۔ باب سجود القرآن]
