8. (And) in whatever form He willed, He assembled and fashioned you [8].

[8] That is, when He created you in the womb of your mother, He did not make one of your legs short and the other long, or one nostril elongated and the other flat. Rather, He made all your limbs balanced. This very fact refutes the view of those who say that man came into being by himself and that all this is the result of the coincidences of nature. The question is: does blind nature or coincidence possess such awareness that it can maintain such uniformity and harmony in the creation of human limbs? Then, after creating the limbs, He placed within you those powers and abilities that were necessary for your life. Then He granted each human being a distinct appearance and form, and gave the shape and features that Allah Himself willed. In this way, after creating a beautiful combination of external and internal faculties, He brought you out from your mother’s womb.
