The Literal Meaning of ﴿بعثر﴾:

﴿بُعْثِرَتْ﴾ ﴿بعثر﴾ is actually a compound of two words: ba‘th and ‘athr. One meaning of ba‘th is to dig up (the earth, etc.) and to search or to bring out. ‘Athr means for something else to appear by itself, to be revealed, or to come forth during the course of something else. The meaning is that when the graves are overturned and dug up, the dead will come out of the earth by themselves.
