Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 10){ وَ اِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ :} The records of deeds that were closed will be spread open and presented, so that every doer may read his own deeds himself. The second meaning is that among the people, their records of deeds will be spread out in their right or left hands.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. 10. 1 At the time of death, these records are rolled up, then on the Day of Resurrection they will be opened for reckoning, which every person will see, rather they will be handed over into their hands.

10. And when the records of deeds are laid open [10],

[10] The meaning of ﴿نُشِرَتْ﴾ ﴿نَشَرَ﴾ is to open something, to spread it out after opening, and to make some news public. Its opposite is "Tawaa," which means to fold up. It is said ﴿نشرت الكتاب ثم طويته﴾, meaning "I opened the book and then closed it." That is, on that day, people's records of deeds will be opened and handed over to them.
