Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 37){ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ … :} It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ تُحْشَرُوْنَ حُفَاةً عُرَاةً غُرْلاً، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ! الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ يَنْظُرُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلٰی بَعْضٍ؟ فَقَالَ الْأَمْرُ أَشَدُّ مِنْ أَنْ يُّهِمَّهُمْ ذَاكِ ] [ بخاري، الرقاق، باب کیف الحشر : ۶۵۲۷ ] "You will be raised barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Then will men and women look at each other?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The matter will be more severe than for this to come to their minds." In Tirmidhi, in the narration from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), it is mentioned that on this occasion he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: «لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ شَاْنٌ يُّغْنِيْهِ» [ عبس : ۳۷ ] "On that Day, every person among them will have a state that will make him unconcerned about others." [ ترمذي، تفسیر القرآن، باب ومن سورۃ عبس : ۳۳۳۲، قال الشیخ الألبانی حسن صحیح ]

The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

37. 1. Or He will make you independent and unconcerned with your relatives and friends. It is mentioned in the hadith: The Prophet ﷺ said that all people will be in the plain of resurrection naked, barefoot, on foot, and uncircumcised.

Gathering Naked on the Day of Resurrection:

The best explanation of this verse is presented in the following hadith. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the Prophet ﷺ said: People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection with bare heads, naked bodies, and uncircumcised. A woman (Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) asked: Will they not look at each other's private parts? He ﷺ replied: O so-and-so (woman), on that day, every person will be so preoccupied with his own situation that it will make him heedless of others. [ترمذي۔ كتاب التفسير]
