فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ ﴿33﴾
Then when there comes As-Sâkhkhah (the second blowing of the Trumpet on the Day of Resurrection)
فَإِذَا fa-idhā But when
جَآءَتِ jāati comes
ٱلصَّآخَّةُ l-ṣākhatu the Deafening Blast

(Ayah 33){ فَاِذَا جَآءَتِ الصَّآخَّةُ : ’’ الصَّآخَّةُ ‘‘} That is, the terrifying sound of the blowing of the Trumpet that will deafen the ears, by which the Day of Resurrection will be established.

33. 1. That is, the Resurrection will occur with a very severe blast which will deafen the ears.

33. Then, when the deafening blast [19] comes.

[19] ﴿الصَّاخَّةُ﴾ and ﴿صخّ﴾ refer to such a sound that deafens the ears. It is such a severe and harsh sound that it would rupture the eardrums, and ﴿الصاخه﴾ refers to the Day of Resurrection, and this condition will occur at the time of the first blowing of the trumpet.
