Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you (in the Cause of Allâh), they are of you. But kindred by blood are nearer to one another (regarding inheritance) in the decree ordained by Allâh. Verily, Allâh is the All-Knower of everything.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 75) ➊ {وَالَّذِيْنَاٰمَنُوْامِنْۢبَعْدُ … :} In this verse, the fourth group of Muslims is mentioned, who, after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah or after Badr, when Islam became a power, embraced faith and migrated. These people will also be counted among the earliest Muhajirun and the Ansar’s companions, although due to precedence, the rank of the former is higher than theirs. It is said: «وَالسّٰبِقُوْنَالسّٰبِقُوْنَ»[ الواقعۃ : ۱۰ ] “And those who are foremost, they are the ones are the ones who will be ahead.” However, according to the hadith in Bukhari (6168) and Muslim (2640) [ اَلْمَرْءُمَعَمَنْأَحَبَّ ] (On the Day of Resurrection, a person will be with those whom he loved and befriended), they will be counted among them. [فَاُولٰٓىِٕكَمِنْكُمْ]
➋ { وَاُولُواالْاَرْحَامِبَعْضُهُمْاَوْلٰىبِبَعْضٍ:} That is, from now on, inheritance will be distributed not on the basis of religious brotherhood but on the basis of kinship, because along with faith, migration, and Jihad, kinship is an additional reason for their closeness. By this, the method was abrogated in which the Muhajirun and Ansar used to inherit from each other. (Ibn Kathir)
➌ { اِنَّاللّٰهَبِكُلِّشَيْءٍعَلِيْمٌ:} He alone knows whose right comes first and whose comes later, therefore all His commands are based entirely on knowledge and wisdom.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
75. 1 This is a mention of a fourth group, which in virtue comes after the first two groups and before the third group (who had not migrated). 75. 2 Those who became heirs on the basis of brotherhood or alliance, this verse abrogated that; now only those will be heirs who are connected through blood relations and marital relations. The meaning of Allah's command is that in the Preserved Tablet, the original command was this. But on the basis of brotherhood, temporarily, they were made heirs of one another, which, after the need ended, became unnecessary and the original command was enforced.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
75. And those who believed afterwards and emigrated and strove alongside you [77]—they are also of you. But in the Book of Allah, blood relatives are nearer to one another [78]. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing of everything.
[77] That is, those who accept Islam, migrate, and participate in jihad after them will have exactly the same legal rights as ﴿وَالسّٰبِقُوْنَالْاَوَّلُوْنَمِنَالْمُهٰجِرِيْنَوَالْاَنْصَارِ﴾. Because now all of them have become connected in one community. Due to precedence or lateness, there will be no difference in their duties and rights. In agreements, they will be equal partners. There will be no difference in the rulings of peace and war, inheritance, etc.
[78] The Abrogation of Inheritance Rulings Based on Brotherhood:
According to this sentence, as well as verse 33 of Surah An-Nisa, the real heirs of inheritance are only close relatives, and the ruling that the Muhajirin and Ansar would become heirs of one another due to brotherhood was abrogated, because by then the economic condition of the Muhajirin had greatly improved. However, instructions regarding bequest, good conduct, kindness, and religious brotherhood for such brothers remain in effect, and this change in the rulings of inheritance occurred because Allah is fully aware of the conditions of the Muslims.
