Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. 63. 1. In these verses, Allah Almighty has mentioned one of the great favors He bestowed upon the Prophet ﷺ and the believers, that is, He helped the Prophet ﷺ through the believers, who became his supporters, protectors, and helpers. He bestowed a favor upon the believers by transforming the enmity that previously existed among them into love and affection. Previously, they were thirsty for each other's blood, but now they became devoted to one another; previously, they were bitter enemies, but now they became compassionate and kind to each other. To end centuries-old mutual enmities in such a way and to create mutual love and affection was a special mercy of Allah Almighty and a manifestation of His power and will. Otherwise, this was such a task that even if all the treasures of the world were spent on it, this precious goal could not have been achieved. Allah Almighty has mentioned this favor in this noble verse: (اِذْ كُنْتُمْ اَعْدَاۗءً فَاَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوْبِكُمْ فَاَصْبَحْتُمْ بِنِعْمَتِھٖٓ اِخْوَانًا) (3:103). The Prophet ﷺ, while addressing the Ansar on the occasion of the spoils of Hunayn, also said, "O group of Ansar! Is it not a fact that you were astray and Allah granted you guidance through me? You were needy and Allah made you prosperous through me, and you were separate from each other and Allah united you through me." Whatever the Prophet ﷺ said, the Ansar would reply, "Allah and His Messenger are more gracious," meaning the favors of Allah and His Messenger are far greater than this." (Sahih Bukhari)

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And He placed affection between their (the Companionsؓ) hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts [65]; but Allah united them. Surely, He is Mighty and Wise.

The Miracle of Allah’s Power: Love and Affection Among Mortal Enemy Tribes

That is, within the community of Muslims, there were individuals belonging to almost all the tribes of Arabia, and due to the tribal system in Arabia, all of them were mortal enemies of one another. Especially the Ansar tribes of Aws and Khazraj—before the arrival of the Muslims in Madinah, these two tribes were thirsty for each other’s blood and were bent on wiping each other off the face of the earth. It is solely by Allah’s grace and mercy that, in just two or three years, such love and affection was instilled in their hearts that today they have become more compassionate toward one another than even real brothers, and such a magnificent achievement could never have been accomplished by worldly means alone. Furthermore, the collective center of affection for all these Muslims was the person of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and all of this is a miracle of Allah’s power and a proof of His perfect wisdom, that He united and harmonized the Muslims in this way to crush falsehood.
