Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 61) {وَاِنْجَنَحُوْالِلسَّلْمِفَاجْنَحْلَهَا … :} The inevitable result of full war preparation and ongoing jihad is that the enemy will incline towards peace. Allah Almighty has commanded to make peace with those who incline towards peace, because the purpose of Islamic jihad is the dominance of Allah’s religion, not to slaughter non-Muslims in every situation, nor to forcibly convert them to Islam. As a result of this peace, many religious and worldly blessings will be attained; due to interaction with Muslims, the disbelievers will become familiar with Islam, the propagation of Islam will increase, and the result will be the dominance of Islam. That is why Allah Almighty declared the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah as a “clear victory.” Sometimes, peace will be made on the basis of jizyah, which will increase the financial strength of the Muslims, and instead of an atmosphere of war in the world, there will be an era of peace and tranquility, which can only happen in the case of Islam’s dominance. But remember, merely losing courage and offering peace to the enemy out of cowardice is not liked by Allah Almighty. See Surah Muhammad (35). In the case of peace, do not worry about the risk of the disbelievers breaking their covenant or plotting, but trust in Allah Almighty; He is hearing everything, seeing everything.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
61. 1. If, instead of the circumstances of war, the situation demands peace and the enemy is also inclined towards peace, then there is no harm in making peace. Even if the enemy's purpose in peace is deception and trickery, there is no need to worry; place your trust in Allah, surely Allah will protect you from the enemy's deceit as well, and He is sufficient for you. However, this permission for peace is in situations when Muslims are weak and peace is in the interest of Islam and Muslims, but when the opposite is the case, Muslims are distinguished in strength and resources and the disbelievers are weak, then in such a situation, instead of peace, it is necessary to break the strength of the disbelievers.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
61. And if they incline towards peace, then incline towards it as well, and put your trust [63] in Allah. Surely, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
[63] One Should Be Ready for a Treaty Even if There Is a Risk of Betrayal from the Enemy, Because Islam Is a Peace-Loving Religion:
That is, if any nation takes the initiative or offers peace or a treaty with the Muslims, the Muslims should not think that perhaps these people are doing so for their own personal interests or are waiting for a suitable opportunity, and when they get the chance, they will deceive and betray the Muslims. Rather, they should boldly and with trust in Allah accept their offer. As for the corruption of their intentions, Allah knows everything. In such a situation, Allah will surely help those who are always ready for peace and reconciliation and make every possible effort to fulfill their agreements. This verse clearly proves that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and is its messenger.
