(Ayah 6) ➊ { اَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْاَرْضَ مِهٰدًا :} To instill certainty about the Day of Judgment and to shake their intellects, Allah Almighty has presented some wonders of His power, asking them to consult their reason: is it difficult for the One who performs such great deeds to resurrect you again? And these wonders are present all around you and within your own selves.
➋ He said, just look at the place where you live—can it be conceived by reason how We created such a vast earth and spread it out like a bed?

Should the Life of the Chief of the Universe, Human Being, Not Have Any Purpose?

After this, Allah Almighty has presented some such signs and evidences from this universe which every human being encounters and benefits from. The purpose is to inform man that these things in the universe have been created for a specific purpose and with great wisdom, and each of them is fulfilling its objectives. Now, as for man, who has been sent as the chief in this universe after being endowed with intellect, consciousness, will, and choice, so that he may benefit from all these things as needed—should his life not have any purpose at all? Does reason accept that man should benefit in every way, do whatever he wishes in the world, and then, when he dies, his story is finished and there is no one to hold him accountable? Has man alone, contrary to all other things in the universe, been created uselessly, so that his life has no purpose? The purpose of human life is this test: whether he uses the powers granted by Allah correctly or incorrectly. He has been given time until his death for this examination.

The Signs of Allah: The Earth Being a Cradle

During this period, he can solve the examination paper in whatever way he wishes. At the time of death, he will be informed of the result of his test, and in the next world, that is, the Hereafter, he will also be rewarded or punished for his deeds. Ahead, mention is being made of some of these signs and evidences. Foremost among them is that the earth has been made a cradle for him, in which We have arranged for his residence, his movement, his food and drink, and all means of his growth and development.
